The Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The 31–24 win capped a dominant season, but the team did not stand still. Right after the victory, the front office turned its attention to roster changes and the upcoming NFL Draft.

During the offseason, the Eagles made several moves. They kept linebacker Zack Baun, who was a top free-agent priority. However, they lost multiple starters. Defensive end Josh Sweat, defensive tackle Milton Williams, cornerbacks Darius Slay and Isaiah Rodgers, guard Mekhi Becton, and linebacker Oren Burks left in free agency. Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was traded to the Houston Texans for guard Kenyon Green. These moves left holes in the defense and the offensive line.

To address these needs, the Eagles entered the 2025 NFL Draft with a clear strategy. General Manager Howie Roseman made several trades and selected 11 players. The draft began in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and the Eagles made their first move by trading up from pick No. 32 to No. 31. They sent picks No. 32 and No. 164 to the Chiefs to take linebacker Jihaad Campbell from Alabama.

Campbell had 117 tackles in 2024 and was a first-team All-SEC player. He played off-ball linebacker and also rushed the passer. Though he had shoulder surgery after the NFL Combine, the Eagles saw him as a top-10 player on their draft board. He joins a linebacker group that includes Zack Baun and Nakobe Dean, who is still recovering from a torn patellar tendon.

In the second round, at pick No. 64, the Eagles chose safety Andrew Mukuba from Texas. Mukuba had five interceptions, seven pass breakups, four tackles for loss, and one forced fumble in 2024. He played both safety and nickel, which fits defensive coordinator Vic Fangio’s system. With Gardner-Johnson gone and veteran safety spots open, Mukuba will compete for a starting job.

The Eagles then traded out of the third round. They first moved from pick No. 96 to No. 101 in a trade with Atlanta, gaining a 2026 fifth-round pick. Then, they sent picks No. 101 and No. 134 to Denver and received picks No. 111, No. 130, and No. 191 in return, which added extra picks and gave the Eagles more flexibility for future drafts.

On Day 3, the Eagles started with pick No. 111 and selected Ty Robinson, a defensive tackle from Nebraska. Robinson had 15 tackles for loss in 2024, the most by a Nebraska player since Ndamukong Suh in 2009. He ran a 4.83-second 40-yard dash at the combine, the fastest time among defensive tackles. He replaces Milton Williams in the defensive line rotation.

At pick No. 130, the Eagles picked cornerback Mac McWilliams from Central Florida. McWilliams is 5-foot-10 and weighs 191 pounds. He ran a 4.41-second 40-yard dash at the combine. He played both outside and slot corner at UCF. His speed and versatility give the Eagles options in a secondary that already includes Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Adoree’ Jackson, and Kelee Ringo.

Later in the fifth round, at pick No. 161, the Eagles added linebacker Smael Mondon Jr. from Georgia. Mondon played inside and outside linebacker and was part of two national championship teams. He missed four games in 2024 due to a foot injury. He adds depth to the linebacker group and could play special teams while developing.

At pick No. 168, Philadelphia addressed the offensive line by selecting Drew Kendall, a center from Boston College. Kendall started 37 games and was named First-Team All-ACC in 2024. He had the second-fastest short shuttle time among offensive linemen at the combine. With Cam Jurgens starting at center, Kendall may move to guard or provide backup.

In the sixth round, with pick No. 181, the Eagles picked quarterback Kyle McCord from Syracuse. McCord, who is from Philadelphia, transferred from Ohio State and threw for 4,779 yards and 34 touchdowns in 2024. He set the ACC single-season passing record. After trading Kenny Pickett to the Browns, the Eagles wanted more depth behind Jalen Hurts and Tanner McKee.

At pick No. 191, they added Myles Hinton, an offensive tackle from Michigan. Hinton is 6-foot-7 and weighs 323 pounds. He started 31 games at left and right tackle. He could become a swing tackle and develop under offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland.

With pick No. 207, the Eagles selected Cameron Williams, a right tackle from Texas. Williams dealt with a heel injury that required surgery last season. If healthy, he has the size and length to develop into a backup or future starter.

To close out the draft, at pick No. 209, the Eagles chose edge rusher Antwaun Powell-Ryland from Virginia Tech. Powell-Ryland had 16 sacks in 2024 and 25.5 total over the past two years. He finished third in the FBS in sacks last season. After losing Josh Sweat and Brandon Graham, the Eagles added Powell-Ryland to reinforce the pass rush.

In total, the Eagles drafted 11 players:

  1. Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama (No. 31)
  2. Andrew Mukuba, S, Texas (No. 64)
  3. Ty Robinson, DT, Nebraska (No. 111)
  4. Mac McWilliams, CB, UCF (No. 130)
  5. Smael Mondon Jr., LB, Georgia (No. 161)
  6. Drew Kendall, C, Boston College (No. 168)
  7. Kyle McCord, QB, Syracuse (No. 181)
  8. Myles Hinton, OT, Michigan (No. 191)
  9. Cameron Williams, OT, Texas (No. 207)
  10. Antwaun Powell-Ryland, Edge, Virginia Tech (No. 209)

The Eagles ended the draft with a younger roster and more depth, especially on defense and the offensive line. They now have as many as 13 picks lined up for the 2026 draft, including several in the early rounds. After winning the Super Bowl, the team stayed aggressive. They filled key positions, managed draft capital well, and gave themselves more tools for the future.
