The annual MORE THAN PINK Walk hosted by Susan G. Komen, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, is quickly approaching on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the Navy Yard. The event, beginning at 8 a.m., will feature an opening ceremony, Hope Village, a 3.1-mile walk, and entertainment by The Mummers Ferko String Band and DJ Walter Smoothflicks.
The event, hosted by CBS3 Anchor Natasha Brown, unites survivors, families, and advocates in a powerful movement to fund research, provide patient support, and drive meaningful change for those impacted by breast cancer. In 2025 alone, an estimated 13,650 women in Pennsylvania will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and 1,800 will lose their lives to the disease.
Funds raised at the MORE THAN PINK Walk allow Komen to meet the immediate needs of breast cancer patients through its free Patient Care Hotline and offer services such as patient navigation, financial assistance, and emotional support. It will also fund research breakthroughs and critical patient-centered protections that allow more lives to be saved.
In fiscal year 2024, Komen’s Financial Assistance Program delivered critical relief, providing $383,250 in direct financial support to more than 670 individuals in Pennsylvania undergoing breast cancer treatment or living with metastatic breast cancer.
“The MORE THAN PINK Walk is a powerful opportunity to make a real difference in the fight against breast cancer,” said Rachel Eichem, Susan G. Komen Executive Director, PA & DE. “Providing critical support to those facing breast cancer is at the heart of our mission and ensures everyone has the same chance of survival, but we can’t do it alone. The Walk provides a movement to drive meaningful change, ensure equitable access to care, and fuel lifesaving research. We invite everyone to stand with us, take action, and help create a future where no one has to face this disease alone.”
