AdvanSix Frankford had a team of nearly 30 runners and walkers out on a Saturday morning for a good cause — the Bridesburg 5k and one-mile Honor Walk.

AdvanSix proudly sponsored this year’s 13th Annual Bridesburg 5k. This race is a fundraiser for the neighborhood’s century-old Memorial Day Parade — one of the oldest in Pennsylvania and a beloved tradition that draws visitors from all over the Philadelphia region.

The AdvanSix Frankford team and their friends and family, led by Plant Manager and lifelong-Northeast Philadelphia native Bill Rodebaugh, were thrilled to join in on the fun — running the 5k, walking the Honor mile, handing out free, reusable tote bags and water bottles, and talking with neighbors about AdvanSix, the products it makes and the role it plays in the community.

“Our ongoing partnership with the Bridesburg community is something everyone at AdvanSix is proud of — including our support for the upcoming Bridesburg Memorial Day Parade, a time-honored tradition for our community,” said Plant Manager Bill Rodebaugh. “Congratulations to my Bridesburg neighbors and Frankford plant employees and family members for an exciting, energizing race. It was a great day.”

AdvanSix has a rich history in the Bridesburg community, tracing its roots back to the founding of the H. W. Jayne Company in 1884. Today, the AdvanSix Frankford facility manufactures the building blocks for many of the household items we use every day, and is proud to create quality products, operate, and employ staff here in Philadelphia. The facility supports the local Boys and Girls Club, Food Pantry and Riverfront North’s partnership for the new, waterfront Borski Park.

“AdvanSix can be seen from many places in the neighborhood and it’s also important that you see our team out here with you, because we truly value this community,” continued Rodebaugh. “Look for us at the parade with our AdvanSix ambulance, and this summer at the Borski Park SPLASH opening with our new AdvanSix fire engine.”
