Philadelphia-based William Way LGBT Community Center (1315 Spruce St., Philadelphia, PA) is thrilled to announce the return of its 20th Annual Juried Art Exhibition, on view beginning November 5 through December 11, 2025. The exhibit is the Center’s largest exhibition of the year, featuring the work of 46 emerging and established LGBTQ+ artists. This year’s exhibition is particularly special as it marks the 20th anniversary of the Philadelphia region’s longest-running annual LGBTQ+ art exhibition and serves as a kick-off to the Center’s approaching 50th Anniversary in 2026.

After receiving more than 100 submissions, WWCC has selected a total of 46 Philadelphia-area LGBTQ+ artists to display their work in the juried exhibition. This year, the Center is offering $1,200 in awards that will be presented. The top three prizes include a spot in a group exhibition in 2026, offering continued opportunities for recognition and engagement.

“One of the strengths of our Annual Juried Exhibition is the wide range of artists’ backgrounds and perspectives, which reflect the diversity and vibrancy of our community,” said Jake Foster, Art Exhibitions Manager at William Way LGBT Community Center. “This year’s participants range in age from 20 to 87. Some are self-taught, while others hold advanced degrees in art. We’re also thrilled to feature artists who are exhibiting at the Center for the first time, alongside those who took part in our very first art exhibition nearly 50 years ago!”

This year, the exhibition was juried by Stamatina Gregory, Head Curator and Director of Exhibitions and Collections at the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art, the only dedicated LGBTQIA+ art museum in the world. Gregory has organized exhibitions and programs at leading institutions, including the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania, ICA LA, the 55th Venice Biennale, and the Cooper Union, where they also served as Associate Dean of the School of Art. Since joining the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art in 2020, Gregory has spearheaded initiatives highlighting queer and trans artists.

Works featured in the Juried Art Exhibition are displayed in the Center’s expansive first-floor lobby and include a wide variety of styles, mediums, and subject matter that will be available for purchase. Profits made from the exhibit support both local LGBTQ+ artists and the Center’s Art and Culture programs, allowing visitors to invest in the community while expanding their own collections. Visitors are invited to celebrate the opening of the 20th Annual Juried Art Exhibition at a free reception on Wednesday, November 5, 6–8PM, giving them the opportunity to meet artists whose works are featured in the exhibition.
