Sandbox VR, the world’s premier destination for virtual reality, is expanding its partnership with Netflix with the release of its new experience, Stranger Things: Catalyst, available to book now at Sandbox VR Philadelphia. This location is part of LOL Entertainment’s portfolio in Philadelphia, a leader in location-based entertainment and immersive experiences.

In this immersive experience, guests become test subjects in Hawkins Lab and explore iconic locations featured in the show, including the Rainbow Room, creepy Mirkwood, and even the Upside Down. Matthew Modine, the actor who plays Dr. Brenner or “Papa”, is also featured throughout the experience as guests fight to escape his lab. Throughout the 45-minute experience, players harness telekinetic powers just like Eleven to fight back against monsters that viewers know well, like the Demagorgon, demodogs, and more.

This new experience is part of LOL Entertainment’s mission to bring opportunities to the Philadelphia community to team build and bond. LOL understands Philadelphia’s strong sense of community and its need for spaces that encourage teamwork, creativity, and shared memories, and meets that desire with their various locations across the city: Sandbox VR, Museum of Illusions, and Time Mission.

Sandbox VR is creating the world’s most immersive experiences using state-of-the-art, full-body virtual reality technology. Groups of up to six guests put on VR headsets and wear motion sensors that capture their full body movements, letting them see and physically interact with each other as they fight Dr. Brenner in Hawkins Lab and other worlds.

“Continued partnerships and expansions with Netflix on popular shows are just one of the reasons we were excited to work with Sandbox VR to bring this new experience to Philadelphia,” said Rob Cooper, CEO and Founder of LOL Entertainment, and Philadelphia area native. “Creating the opportunity for Philadelphians to live out one of their favorite shows is exactly the kind of immersive, memorable entertainment we strive to deliver.”

Sandbox VR Philadelphia is open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Guests can book Stranger Things: Catalyst at sandboxvr.com/philadelphia/booking.
