Search for bank robber

The FBI/Philadelphia Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the man responsible for the robbery Friday afternoon of the Truist Bank branch located at 2330 E. York St.

At about 12:05 p.m., the man entered the bank, approached the counter and handed a threatening demand note to a teller. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled the area of the bank and was last seen heading east on Gordon Street.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded jacket with a Columbia logo on the left chest, black pants, black shoes, black sunglasses and a light blue face mask.

This man is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is urged to call the FBI/PPD Violent Crimes Task Force at 215-418-4000 or go to tips.fbi.gov.

A reward is being offered for information leading to the suspect’s capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
