Stacy Gorman, bartender and server at Donna’s Bar, said that the Port Richmond spot’s happy hour is good for a few things: a friendly crowd, cheap drinks and lots of laughs.

“There’s no cliques, everyone is talking to each other,” Gorman said of the typical crowd at Donna’s, adding that the bar brings in many regular customers. “It’s like ‘Cheers,’” she said. “We all look out for each other.”

The bar’s happy hour boasts $2 domestic beers, and $3.50 bottles of two big sellers, the polish beers Zywiec and Lech. With the neighborhood’s heavily Polish population, the beers’ popularity might be no surprise, but Gorman said there’s a good mix of people in the happy hour crowd.

“There’s a diversity of people, it’s so different,” she said.

Gorman said along with the happy hour, Donna’s also hosts karaoke on Friday nights and bingo on Wednesday nights, when the place is packed.

All in all, she said, the bar is a good place to be happy, no matter what the hour is.

“It’s like family,” said Gorman.
