A brand-new seafood restaurant looking to bring the “fish” back to Fishtown recently opened its doors.

The Fin, which officially opened for business on Dec. 9 next to the Fillmore and Punch Line in the space that previously housed Mad Rex, features a surf-and-turf theme. It has over 10,000 square feet of space and over 220 seats, and also boasts a 25-foot-long indoor television.

“We are excited to bring Philadelphia a brand-new seafood destination and a one-of-a-kind concept that features a great balance of delicious quality food, a giant menu of craft cocktails and a large robust wine list,” said Jeffrey Schroth, the general manager of The Fin, in a press release.

The restaurant’s food menu, organized by executive chef Valentin Bay, has a diverse array of options. It includes seafood dishes such as whole red snapper, rockfish and cajun crab cheesecake, as well as other offerings including chicken and waffles.

Its beverage program, run by bar manager Phillip Search, will expand to over 120 cocktails and 325 wine selections, loosely divided by region, by the spring.

In addition, The Fin can host up to five private parties and special events in both semi-private and private event spaces.

Current hours of operation are 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 2 a.m. on Saturdays and noon to 10:00 p.m. on Sundays.
