NLNA General Meeting

At 7 p.m., on Thursday, April 26, the Northern Liberties Neighbors Association will hold a monthly meeting at the community center at the intersection of Third Street and Fairmount Avenue.

During the meeting, residents will vote on proposed changes to NLNA by-laws. The proposed changes are as follows: consider NLNA committee meetings — where a member participates as a member of the committee — as meetings that would count toward the three NLNA meetings required to make a member eligible to run for the NLNA board.

Also, by-laws could change to eliminate term limits for the group’s president and vice president.

Other changes would allow expenditures under $200 within the approved yearly budget without additional approval, and, allow the board to change how it follows the fiscal year.

After the vote on the bylaws changes, the NLNA election committee will take nominations for president, treasurer and six at-large board seats.

The board election will take place on May 31, at 7 p.m. at the community center.

For more information on NLNA elections and whether you are registered to vote or eligible to run for the board, please contact committee chair Irene Lambrou at [email protected]. ••
