Giving from one neighborhood to another

The Portside Arts Center in Port Richmond recently received a $500 donation from Northern Liberties’ Hyperion Bank for the center’s summer arts camp experience.

The Summer Arts Camp provides an eight-week daily arts program for neighborhood kids, 80 percent of whom have limited financial resources.

Hyperion also donated to State Senator Christine M. Tartaglione’s “Stuff the Bus” school supplies campaign, one that seeks to collect school supplies during her annual Community Day Picnic, held in Norris Square Park. Hyperion Bank donated $200 to that campaign. That donation helped purchase school supplies for local families, one of which is pictured below.
