‘Spooktacular’ at Campbell Square

Join in on a Halloween costume parade and trick-or-treating in the park. The bash will run from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. Light refreshments will be for sale. Check the Friends of Campbell Square Facebook page after 5 p.m. on event dates for rain info. ••

Applebee’s flapjack fundraiser

The Polish American Cultural Museum on Walnut Street will sponsor a breakfast at Applebeer’s, 2535 Castor Ave., on Saturday, Oct. 19, between 8 and 10 a.m. Cost is $7 per person. For more information, all Theresa Romanowski, 215–922–1700. ••

Liberty Lands Fall Fest

Come out to Liberty Lands, 926 N. American St., on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 2 to 5 p.m. for the 15th annual Fall Festival. This festival features a hayride, a children’s costume parade, a moon-bounce, pumpkin painting, food, beverages, and more. ••

St. Joachim raffle

Court St. Francis De Sales #2617, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, presents the “Tricky Trays” basket raffle on Oct. 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at St. Joachim Church, 1527 Church St. Cost for adults is $4, $2 for children. ••

Events at Richmond Library

Kids Cook, a lesson on healthy eating, on Monday, Nov. 18, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Mommy and Me, a storybook reading, on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 10:30 a.m. Preschool story time will be held the first Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m.

St. Anne’s ‘Coach Bingo’

The last St. Anne’s Coach Bingo, on Sept. 7, was a great success. The bag for the last game retailed at $899. For $30 admission, enjoy snacks, coffee and cake while you play bingo for Coach bags.

Great Fishtown Spelling Bee

The 12th annual Great Fishtown Spelling Bee is set for Friday, Oct. 25 at 3:30 p.m., at Shissler Rec. Center. The competition is open to students from grades 2–8. As always, the competition is free and open to any student from any school in Philadelphia. ••

Girl Scouts haunted house

The Girl Scouts and Advisory Council invite you to walk through their “Haunted House” at Frank Glavin Playground, 2600 Westmoreland St.

Penn Treaty Halloween Hoedown

Join the Friends of Penn Treaty Park on Oct. 26, at noon, for the annual Halloween Hoedown in the park, featuring Philadelphia’s largest free pumpkin patch, games, face painting, music, fun and other surprises. ••

Beef and beer for Barb Zimath

A beef and beer will be held on Friday, Nov. 8 for Barbara Zimath, a Port Richmond woman assaulted recently during a robbery. The fundraiser will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Polish American String Band Hall, 2729 Westmoreland St. ••

Franklin Towne beef and beer

St. Anne’s all-class reunion

LOPR trip to Lancaster

The Ladies of Port Richmond will take a trip to the American Music Theatre in Lancaster to see The First Noel Christmas on Saturday, Nov. 30. Cost of tickets is $100 for adults, $70 for children 11 to 17, and $60 for children under 10. The group will depart at 9:30 a.m. from Cambell Square. St. Anne’s bingo

Enjoy a smoke-free bingo game in the St. Anne’s social hall with a full kitchen preparing foods for your enjoyment. There are two progressive jackpots each week. Those jackpots are both currently $1,199.

Kids’ basketball clinics

Once again, Jen Ricco-McCook is running basketball clinics for boys and girls ages 7 to 13. Group clinics will run Monday nights beginning Oct. 7 for 4 Mondays in a row at Cohox Rec. from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Cost is $5 per session or $15 for all 4.

Kensington Co-op marketplace

Kensington Community Food Co-op runs a food marketplace every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Circle of Hope (2nd floor), at 2009 Frankford Ave.
