Port Richmond Tigers hosting signups

Signups for the Port Richmond Tigers baseball and softball programs for boys and girls ages 6 to 18 are open. To register, stop at the clubhouse, Chatham and Ann streets, weeknights from 6:30 to 8.

Girls-only wrestling program has openings

Beat the Streets Philadelphia has started a girls-only wrestling program at the Rizzo PAL Center, Belgrade and Clearfield streets.

All girls ages 6 to 18 are welcome. No experience is necessary. Practices are held on Fridays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The program is free of charge.

Weather-Ready Homes workshop

The “Weather-Ready Homes: Climate Change, Energy and Your Health” workshop will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Bayard Taylor Elementary, 3698 N. Randolph St., and Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3101 Tyson Ave.

The workshop will include information about climate change and its impacts on the city, how to keep your home and family safe, energy efficiency in homes and public resources available to residents.

The “Weather-Ready Homes: Climate Change, Energy and Your Health” workshop is part of an education and research project led by the Clean Air Council, Drexel University, Energy Coordinating Agency, Liberty Lutheran, the National Nurse-Led Care Consortium and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health.

Participants will receive a $25 gift card as a thank you at the end of the workshop.

Friends of Richmond Library meeting

The Friends of Richmond Library will hold a welcome/meet and greet on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m.

Join the group for a snack, and learn how to become active in the friends group. This is a chance to advocate for the library. Trip to Atlantic City on Sunday

Holy Innocents Parish is organizing a trip to Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Sunday, Feb. 24.

A bus will depart L Street and Hunting Park Avenue at 9 a.m. The bus will depart the Tropicana at 4:30 p.m.

The cost is $30. Riders will receive $25 in slot cash.

Diabetes education program at LSH

Lutheran Settlement House, 1340 Frankford Ave., will offer Common Threads: Diabetes Education Program on Tuesdays, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The program is free to individuals 60-plus and will be held over six Tuesday sessions, including Feb. 26 and March 5 and 12. Lunch will be provided after each session.

Designer bag bingo event is March 1

A designer bag bingo will be held at the Holy Name Church Hall, 701 Gaul St., on Friday, March 1. Tickets are $35 and include six cards for each game, desserts, coffee, tea and water. St. Adalbert to host third annual dinner

St. Adalbert Parish will sponsor its Third Annual Dinner, which is a parish fundraiser, in its parish hall, Thompson Street and Allegheny Avenue, on Saturday, March 2, from 6 to 10 p.m.

There will be entertainment by the Polish American String Band and DJ Bart. Dinner includes an appetizer table, dinner and a sweet table. Admission is $30 for adults and $10 for children age 6 to 12 years.

Original Mystery Bingo at St. George Hall

The Port Richmond Tigers will host a spring Mystery Bingo on Sunday, March 3, at St. George Hall, Almond and Venango streets. Doors open at 1 p.m. and games will start at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $30. Home-cooked lunch is included with admission. Games will include two prizes every round. There will also be a Chinese auction, special games and a 50/50 raffle. Seats will be limited.

Bridesburg Rec summer camp registration

Registration for summer camp at Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4601 Richmond St., will begin on Wednesday, March 6.

There will be two encampments, which will run four weeks each. Encampments include early, day and extended camps.

The first encampment will run from Monday, June 17, to Friday, July 12. The second encampment will run from Monday, July 15, to Friday, Aug. 9.

All fees must be paid in full at registration. Cost is $110 for each early camp and $200 for each day and extended camps.

St. Paddy’s Day Sip and Shop

A vendor and craft event will be held at Point No Point, 2843 Orthodox St., on Saturday, March 16, from 2 to 6 p.m. Entrance is free and the event will feature vendors, crafts, cash bar, raffles and more.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Bridesburg Cougars Cheerleading Squad.

Travel with North alums on May 11

The Northeast Catholic Alumni Association is sponsoring a trip to Baltimore on Saturday, May 11.

A bus will depart the alumni house at Rhawn and Fairfield streets at 8:30 a.m. and arrive back at 8:30 p.m.

The day includes a ticket to the National Aquarium at 11 a.m. and a sit-down late lunch/early dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe at 2 p.m.

There will be about three hours free time before the bus departs the Inner Harbor at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $110, which must be paid in full by April 8.

Adult zumba at Bridesburg Rec Center

The Bridesburg Recreation Center, 4601 Richmond St., offers adult zumba on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 7 to 8 p.m. The room is air conditioned.
