Heather Heidelbaugh, the Republican candidate for attorney general, called on incumbent Democrat Josh Shapiro to state his position on the newly developed effort to defund the police that is gaining support from Democratic politicians across America.

“I believe an effective and fair police force is crucial for our safety and liberty. As attorney general, I would oppose these radical, left-wing efforts and work with all communities to ensure that our streets are safe,” Heidelbaugh said.

Heidelbaugh, a trial attorney with more than 35 years of courtroom experience, previously served as a committeewoman at-large on Allegheny County Council and is a partner at her Pittsburgh law firm.
