With Mayor Jim Kenney announcing that the city has placed a moratorium on large public events through Feb. 28, 2021, the third annual Eagles Autism Challenge will move to an all-virtual format on Sept. 26.

Participants will still receive the same fundraising benefits, including a cycling jersey/5k T-shirt (as applicable), bib, finisher’s medal and virtual sponsor gift bag.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 1 in 54 people under 21 living in the United States are on the autism spectrum, making it the fastest-growing developmental disorder.

With autism in his family, Eagles owner and CEO Jeffrey Lurie has seen firsthand the difference the right resources can make.

The Eagles Autism Challenge is dedicated to raising funds for innovative research and programs to help unlock the mystery of autism. By providing the necessary resources to doctors and scientists at leading institutions, supporters assist those currently affected by autism as well as future generations.

The event’s founding beneficiary partners are Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Drexel University and Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health.

Participation options are a bicycle ride, a 5k run/walk and a sensory walk.
