Rivers Casino capped off its St. Patrick’s Day celebration with Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard opening its first casino shop on Sunday, March 20.

Located inside the casino’s north entrance next to Geno’s Steaks, the shop will be open year-round, seven days a week from noon to 9 p.m. and feature a rotating daily selection of over 90 flavors of Rita’s water ice.

“As a Philly favorite, we’re excited to open within Rivers Casino Philadelphia to create more opportunities for guests to experience Rita’s, especially in a non-traditional, entertainment-filled atmosphere like a casino,” said Linda Chadwick, the CEO of Rita’s, in a press release.

To go along with the grand opening, Rita’s also celebrated the 30th anniversary of its First Day of Spring promotion, which offers free water ice to all customers.

“Opening on the first day of spring and celebrating Rita’s fantastic promotion is the perfect way to bring together two of Philadelphia’s most recognizable brands,” said Justin Moore, the general manager of Rivers Casino, in a press release. “Rita’s Italian Ice is the cherry on top of our St. Patrick’s Day weekend-long celebration.”

Rita’s is the latest addition to the food options at Rivers that currently features Jack’s Bar and Grille, which recently introduced its stage and dance floor, as well as authentic Asian cuisine at Mian.
