Is there anything that says love better than a cold mug of beer?

To be honest, there probably is. That’s not going to stop the folks at My Local Brew Works from crafting an amazing Valentine’s Day experience for beer enthusiasts and lovers alike.

My Local Brew Works, located on the 4500 block of Worth St., is launching its Custom Craft Brewing Package for Valentines, loved ones or couples. Philadelphia’s first custom craft brewery focused on special events and contract brewing has developed a personalized package interactive, in-depth look into the craft brewing process from start-to-finish.

The package features interactions with award-winning local home brewers and MLBW founders Tim Montague and Wayne Humphrey, plus their brewing mentor George Hummel. Held in the brewery located in the former Globe Dye Works building, the package allows participants to have full creative control of every aspect of the brewing process.

“Spending an intimate brew day together with your partner or surprising them with a bottle of their own custom beer are both unforgettable experiences,” Humphrey said. “Building something special from scratch, there’s nothing else like it.”

The process starts with a consultation to discuss every aspect of the experience from the style of beer to the lunch menu to the label of each custom brew. A tour of the Globe Dye Works facility and its on-site brewery follows before the brewing process begins.

At the midway point of the day, lunch is served along with a beer-tasting of specific beers offered by the brewery.

Brewing the beer resumes after lunch. Once the process is complete, cooling and fermenting begins. The process ends with a toast to celebrate and MLBW gifts are distributed.

Custom brew day packages range from extremely reasonably priced to extravagant depending on how expansive an experience is desired.
