Riverwards Produce targets 150 Thanksgiving donations

The Vetri Community Partnership and Riverwards Produce are partnering to bring 150 families in need everything a Thanksgiving holiday table needs.

The donation will be held at 915 Spring Garden St. on Saturday, Nov. 18.

“We’ve partnered with Vetri Community Partnership for charitable initiatives before and I love working with that whole team,” said Riverwards Produce founder Vincent Finazzo. “While every single day is a great day to donate food to people in need, I think it’s very important to do so during the holiday season.”

The effort to provide families with a complete holiday experience has been a group effort.

Finazzo has partnered with Smith Poultry owner Kyle Smith to bring Philadelphia the highest-quality turkeys possible this Thanksgiving.

In the fourth year of partnering with the Williamstown, New Jersey farm, the Riverwards’ website is offering pre-orders for Smith Poultry turkeys.

Riverwards also offers local, certified organic turkeys from Lancaster Farm Fresh Co-Op.

“We’re looking forward to feeding families again this Thanksgiving and beyond,” Finazzo said. “Partnering with local purveyors like Smith Poultry and all of our farmers makes it that much better. Last year, Kyle’s turkeys sold out in only one week, so we urge our customers to plan ahead and shop early so they don’t miss out.”

Riverwards Produce has two locations — at 146 Bread St. in Old City and at 2200 E. Norris St. in Fishtown.
