According to NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the Los Angeles Kings and Philadelphia Flyers have been engaged in trade talks centering around Flyers forwards.
Seravalli, a seasoned hockey journalist with deep ties to the Flyers organization, shared details on his podcast, The DFO Rundown. While specifics are scarce, Seravalli dismissed Travis Konecny and Tyson Forrester as Flyers trade options but mentioned players like Morgan Frost, Joel Farabee, Scott Laughton, and Bobby Brink as potential targets.

“I don’t think they’re trading Konecny,” Seravalli said, clarifying that Forrester is also off the table. “But I do think they talked to the Flyers about some of the forwards they have.“
The Kings, facing a need for additional scoring depth, particularly from a right-shot forward, are evaluating their roster as they await Drew Doughty’s return.
While Brink fits the profile of a right-handed forward, his modest projection of 11 goals and 36 points makes him an unlikely solution.
Laughton, a versatile veteran on track for a 20-goal season, offers experience but has a 40-point ceiling, while Frost and Farabee bring potential but remain inconsistent.
Farabee’s $5 million AAV for three more years adds complexity to any potential deal.
Meanwhile, Scott Laughton’s recent offensive surge is boosting his trade value.
Laughton tied a franchise record with four goals in a single game against the Red Wings, a performance that underscored his importance.
Known for his leadership, penalty killing, and relentless style, Laughton has long been a player in demand across the league.
With one year left on his $3 million contract, many believe this could be the year the Flyers finally move him.
Flyers rumors have intensified as the team evaluates its underperforming centers.
Philadelphia’s centers have combined for just 13 goals this season, fewer than their defensemen’s 15.
However, despite his talent, Frost has not met expectations and remains the subject of trade speculation in the latest Flyers news.
“I think all of our skill sets complement each other well,” Frost said after a recent strong performance alongside Owen Tippett and Matvei Michkov. “I’m having a blast playing with those guys. Hopefully, we can stick together.“
Currently, the Flyers are at a crossroads with Frost and other underperforming forwards.
Trade speculation swirls, but Philadelphia’s history of letting go of young talent too soon—like Justin Williams and Patrick Sharp—adds caution.
As Frost finds his form, the Flyers may hesitate to pull the trigger on a deal, even as his name circulates in Flyers rumors.
But ultimately, the Kings and the Flyers might decide to hold off until the trade deadline approaches.
For now, the teams are left weighing risks and rewards as they look to improve their rosters, keeping Frank Seravalli’s insights at the forefront of ongoing discussions.
